ఈ ఆలయం ఒక ఉదాహరణ దేవాలయాన్ని మస్జిద్ గా మార్చడానికి చేసిన ప్రయత్నం అని.అక్కడ మనకు చాలా స్పష్టం గా కనపడుతుంది ఆలయ ద్వారాన్ని బలవంతం గా హిందూ ఆచారం నుండి మస్జిద్ ద్వారం లాగా వచ్చేలా చేసిన ప్రయత్నం.
ముఖద్వారం యెక్క రాతి పలకలు తొలగించి కట్టాలని ప్రయత్నం చేశారు ,మనం అక్కడ ఇస్లామిక్ ఆచారం ప్రకారం ఎరుపు రంగు ఇటుకల కూర్పు చూడవచ్చు.

మంచి ఉదాహరణ లలో ఇది ఒకటి,ఇది హేమద్పంతి లాంటి నిర్మాణం.ఈ ఆలయాన్ని అసౌష్టవ నక్షత్రం గా  ఉండే ఆకారం లో నిర్మించారు.అద్భుత విమాన శిల్పాలు ఖజురహో ను గుర్తుచేస్తుంది.అత్యంత కష్ట సాధ్యమైన,ఖర్చు తో కూడుకున్న నిర్మాణాలు బాదామి లేదా పట్టడక్కల్ లాంటి వాటిని చాళుక్యుల ద్వారానే అని గమనించాలి.వివరణాత్మకం గా ఉండే శిల్పాలు ఆలయ ఉపరితలాన్ని కప్పి ఉంచుతాయి.పురాణాల నుండి గాధల రూపం లో వీటి గురించి మనం తెలుసుకోవచ్చు.అద్భుత గాధలు అయిన రామాయణ,మహాభారత ,వివిధ దేవతల వర్ణన,అప్సరసలు,యక్షులు, కిన్నెరులు మరియు కామసూత్రులు నుండి కూడా మనం తెలుసుకోవచ్చు.

Daitya Sudan Temple

This temple is an example showing how a temple gets converted to mosque. There are clear visible evidences of invading Muslim forces who tried to convert this historic Hindu temple into a mosque.  Attempts have been made to layer the main gateway of the temple with red bricks in Islamic style.

One of the best examples of Hemadpanti style of construction, the temple is built in the form of an asymmetrical star. Wonderful erotic carvings of the temple resembles to the popular Khajuraho temples and definitely reminds you about the exquisitely rich elaborated carvings of Badami or Pattadakkal, built by the mighty Chalukyas only.
